i have labile hypertension and suffered a high BP episode about a month ago (180/100). i was on inderal 20 mg a day. such episodes had happened whenever i had burping and reflux and it was the same that time also. the doc said it was due to anxiety and got me to do a treadmill which showed heart in good condition but BP hit a max of 190/110. Doc switched me to telmisartan + thiazide 40 mg twice a day. . the BP has stabilized well for a month now and shows mostly around 105/65. i have also controlled acid reflux by changing to bland diet. Can i just lower my dosage of telmisartan to 40 mg a day henceforth ? is there anything else i need to check ?
