This is Jitendra Dhopte, 46 yrs old, mechanical engineer currently working as a Professor in MET BKC, Bhujbal College, Nasik. My wife has been suffering from mental illness since 2010.
My wife, Vinaya Dhopte is 41 yrs old, Polymer Engineer. She worked in Graphite India Ltd. Nasik for 3 years and then in Govt. Polytechnic College, Nasik as a Lecturer for 2 years.
We were married in 2006 and our daughter was born in 2009. 4 -5 months after my daughter's birth, she started behaving strangely.
I showed her to a doctor in Nagpur in 2010. She refused to take medications. I showed her again to Dr. Prasad in Nasik in 2013. She threw away all the medicines. Since then, she simply refused to see a doctor claiming that nothing is wrong with her.
Her eccentric behaviours are given below ---
Abnormal thinking and lost a sense of reality and experiences the world in a distorted way.
She acts in a very abnormal manner. She behaves very strangely and childishly.
She stopped sending our daughter to school since last 3 and a half years
Have hallucinations such as hearing horns. Sometimes, as soon as she hears a sound of a horn, she starts hurdling abuses by using abusive language.
Have delusions which can be difficult or impossible to speak to them about reasonably

Withdrawal from me and from other family members
Social withdrawal and isolation, quits seeing her friends and no longer seemed to care about social pursuits.

Difficulty showing emotions Displays limited or inappropriate emotions

Reduced speaking
Sometimes, mumbles quietly to herself and at times she seemed to be talking to people who were not there.
Irrational statements, she speaks absurd and non- sensical statements all the time.
Inappropriate laughter

Trouble focusing or paying attention
Seems inattentive and preoccupied.
Staring

She is obsessed with ritual cleaning of clothes.
There are repetitious arguments, complete withdrawals from the relationship, unwillingness or inability to discuss important issues despite my efforts to engage her.

Unpredictable behaviour Shifts to unusual behavior; significant personality change
Hyperactive or inactive ( alternating between the two)
Turns verbally abusive, she abruptly gets very aggressive, hostile and suspicious in nature.

She often threatens me that she will cause damage to the house. She has broken the window, door once and writes itsy - bitsy things on the walls and tore my shirts many times.
She has broken many things so far - TV, laptop, mini laptop, cell phones, specs etc.
She picks up many fights with neighbours for no reason. For this reason, I changed my house 11 times in last 12 years.

She does not take any responsibility, not even for her own issues. She does not work at getting better and giving our daughter a good life. She is not willing to hear about how her problems are affecting our daughter. Now my daughter is afraid to live with her mother. I could not leave my daughter with her. Now she says she is ready to see a doctor for treatment because I had started living separately with my daughter.

So, what do you say? Waiting for your reply.
