1.     Set Goals:

When you are depressed, you do not feel like doing anything. Being tired of trying may be one of the reasons for this. However, there is one great way bring the confidence back and to get ready for the life. All you need to do is to set very easy and small goals for yourself. Say, a goal could be walking for 15 minutes daily. By achieving such goals you will gain a sense of accomplishment and it will help in boosting up your confidence.

2.     Eat Healthily:

It is famously said - "You become, what you eat.” In some cases, depression can also be caused due to improper or inadequate secretion of hormones. There are certain food items that regulate secretion of hormones and help your body to secrete the hormones that make you feel happy and energetic. For example, foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids and folic acid can help reduce depression.

3.     Get Enough Sleep:

Our entire body and mind get repaired while we sleep. So it is very necessary to have sound sleep. However, while in depression, it is hard to get a sound sleep. So to overcome this problem you can try few tips. First of all, you should meditate for a while every day. It helps to reduce stress and calms your mind. Also, fix a time to go to bed and wake up daily. This will also help you in getting sound sleep.

4.     Try Something New:

While in depression, people often stop doing anything. But this may make the situations worse. You should try something new or you can work on your hobbies such as gardening, playing some musical instrument, getting involved in some kind of sports (swimming, cricket, etc.). This will help you divert your mind and will help you stay positive.

5.     Stop comparing yourself with others:

By saying this, we mean that one should be happy with what he is or what he has. The grass is always greener on another side. One should appreciate what he has and should be thankful to God for that. Comparing yourself with others is the major reason for depression.

6.     Limit your time on social media accounts:

In spite of getting involved in virtual friendship (social media friendship), you should go out and make real friends. People who really listen to you and share your sorrows and happiness are your real friends. Make such friends, spend time with them, go for a walk or call them at your place for tea or dinner. Socialize in a real way, the way it is meant to be.

7.     Exercise:

Doing an exercise for half an hour daily will definitely relieve stress and will keep you going. If you are suffering from depression you should definitely try it. It works as a miracle.

8.     Challenge Negative thoughts

As soon as you realize that negative thoughts are invading your mind, immediately engage yourself in some interesting activity such as listening to music, playing with your pet, etc. Do not ever let negative thoughts haunt your mind for long.

9.     Take on responsibilities

Try to take small responsibilities and fulfill them. This will help you in being confident and optimistic.

10.    Try to do funny things:

Ian Ainsworth Cook (An American Psychiatrist) Says: What if nothing seems fun anymore? "That's just a symptom of depression".

Be childish. Play around your house or in the garden. Take funny pictures. Sing loudly. Feel free. You should do all such activities that make you feel happy. Do all the funny stuff and do not care about what the people think of you. Be yourself.
